Advisor (1) Dr. Jolanda H.D Pilongo, M.Pd (2) Sri Rumiatiningsih Luwiti, S.Pd, M.Pd The research aimed to knowing the implementation of theme-based teaching effective to develop students' vocabulary mastery at the seventh grade of M.Ts Al-Khairat Gentuma Raya in 2017/2018. This researcher used quantitative research with one group pre-test posttest design. This research was carrying out in the VIIC with 20 students for six meetings, which consisted of pretest-posttest. The data were obtained from test multiple choices. Based on the research findings, the theme-based teaching effective to develop students' vocabulary in terms of word identification, word use, and word meaning. It can be seen of the significant score in pre-test and post-test. Mean score pre-test is 42.50 and mean score of post-test is 51.79. Moreover, the result of t-test showed that tcount > ttable (6.61 > 2.09), means that null hypothesis (H0) rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) accepted.
