Abstract
ABSTRACT This study presents to resolve studentsâ problem in writing. Meanwhile to resolve the studentsâ problem, this research uses a technique to improve students' writing abilities. Therefore, this research aims to find out whether or not Dictogloss Technique increased studentsâ ability in writing. In examining the research, the quantitative method was used, this done through pre-test, tratment, and post-test. As the result of pre-test normality analysis was Lcount Ltable or 0,2211 0.171 and the result of post-test wasLcount Ltable or 0,4732 0.171. According to the major findings of the present study, it can be concluded that the hypothesis of this research is accepted, the dictogloss technique can increase the studentsâ writing ability. It appropriates with criteria testing the tcount as big as 20,31 whereas table distribution ttable obtained 1,717. The value tcount bigger than ttable (20,31>1,717). As a result, hypothesis H0 is accepted, and H1 is rejected. Keywords: Dictogloss Technique, Writing Descriptive Text
