Mohamad Rivaldy Hulinggi. 2020. An Analysis of Social Stratification Reflected In Lauren Weisbergers Novel The Devil Wears Prada Undergraduate Thesis. Gorontalo. English Department, Faculty of Literature and Culture, Gorontalo State University. Advisor I: Dr. Magdalena Baga, S.S.,M.Si, Advisor II: Novi Rusnarty Usu, S.Pd.,M.A. This research aims to analyses the Social Stratification represented in the novel The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weinbergers. This research uses Webers and Saunders Theory about Social Stratification and The Social Class, and the method uses Marxist Literary Criticism as its literary approach. The Research Result pointed out that the novel shows about social stratification in small scope in a magazine enterprise, and the result shows how each class try to defend its class, represented by the characters, Andrea and Miranda. Andrea tried to defend her middle class even though she must be humiliated, and Miranda defended her upper class, because she could maintain her power.
