Abstract
This study aimed to explore teachers' perceptions of autonomy learning in teaching speaking. This research used a sampling method, and there are ten teachers in the sample. The methodology used in this study was qualitative. The instruments to gather main information were the online questionnaires from the Google Form. In the interpretation of the findings, the researcher has selected and displayed some data that corresponded to the research issues. The outcome of the study has shown that teachers are under-motivated in the use of autonomy learning because of the student limitation of independent learning. However, the teachers believe that autonomy learning is a successful way to enhance the language skills of their students, but they refuse to do it in the classroom. Keywords: autonomy learning, independent learning, perception, English course.
