This study is intended to find out the types of slang contained in the movie Friends with Benefits directed by Will Gluck. The researcher, in this study, used qualitative descriptive method to analyze the data. The data were taken from the utterances containing slang in the movie. The researcher was limited the data based on the theory of Chapman (1998) which states that slang can be divided into two types; Primary Slang and Secondary Slang. The theory from Taylor (2003) is used in this study as the steps to analyze descriptively the data which consists of data identifications, data classifications, and data interpretations. The result shows that there are two types of slang which represented in 35 data in the movie Friends with Benefits by Will Gluck; 29 data of primary slang, and 6 data of secondary slang. The slang words fucking, gotta, hoodie, gonna, asshole, cops, kinda, boobs, nope, dude, cool, buddy, shit, gay, damn, outta, jerk, hot, bullshit, peeps, hangout, dumb, though, fucked up, what the fuck, get the hell, what the hell, go fuck yourself, and as hell were categorized as primary slang. The rest data were about secondary slang which consists of watermelon, douche, pussy, monkey, hooked up, and let's play tennis. The specific meanings of each type of slang were discussed more deeply in this study.
