Rasuna Talib, M.Hum (2) Dra. Elsje L. Sambouw, M.Hum The research is aimed at knowing the implementation of crossword puzzle can increase students vocabulary that focused on noun and adjective in the seventh grade of SMP N 4 Batudaa Pantai in 2017/2018 academic year and to know whether by using crossword puzzle can increase students' vocabulary or not. This experimental design research was conducted in the class with 17 students for 4 meetings which consisted of pretest-posttest group.The data were obtained from test. The researcher gained quantitative method and used Ttest to analyze the data and to test the hypothesis. In the result of pre-test the mean score of students score is 41,176, and the mean score of post-test is 47,059. Moreover, the result of Ttest showed that tcount > ttable 8,079 > 2,12. Thus it can be concluded that Ha is accepted while Ho is rejected. Key words: Crossword Puzzle, Vocabulary, Media.
