Note taking strategy is very important for the students in order to get the meaning of the talks or audio that is being listened. Therefore, the researcher conducted this research in order to to know how are the students������ perceptions on the use of note taking strategy in listening for academic purposes. In this research, questionnaire and interview is used as the technique of collecting the data. The participants of this research are the students of English Department at the fourth semester in academic year 2018/ 2019. The sample of the research are 21 students that were chosen randomly. The result of this research showed that the students had a good perception about the use of note taking strategy in listening subject. They use note taking strategy in listening subject in order to understand and remember every important points of information which is being listened. Besides, there are many advantages that can be found on the process of applying note taking strategy in listening subject, such as they can remember the information, get the key point, and they can review the material that they had learned before.
