Abstract
This research aimed to investigate students perception on the use of 90s songs in learning listening at IX Grade of MTS N Paguyaman. This research employed qualitative approach for the research methodology while the data collection technique, this research employed questionnaire and interview. In analyzing the data, this research utilized thematic analysis to discover the theme represented by each answer. The results showed that the efficiency of songs in learning listening is affected by the enjoyable atmosphere created by the song itself, which, according to the participants, improve their motivation to learn English. This motivation prompted the students to subconsciously obtained vocabulary from the given songs. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of 90s songs in learning listening ease the participants in obtaining necessary listening skills. Also, by looking into this perk, using songs could also helped in comprehending other language skills Keywords: listening skills, songs, media. 90s songs
