App. Ling, Ph.d This study aims to find out whether the use of narrative story telling can improve students speaking ability or not. This study took 25 students of SMP N5 Gorontalo class 9-1 as the sample. In this study, the researcher used oral test to collect the data. This study used pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The results of this study show that the mean score of the pre-test is 26,56 and the mean score of the post-test is 47,52. The hypothesis of this study found that the tcount ����¯�¿�½���¯���¿���½������¥ tlist with a value of 16 ����¯�¿�½���¯���¿���½������¥ 2,069. It means that the hypothesis (h1) of this research is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of narrative storytelling can improve students����¯�¿�½���¯���¿���½����¯�¿�½�¯�¿�½ speaking ability of class 9-1 SMP 5 Gorontalo.
