Abstract
Abstract Yuliyanti Tanaiyo. 2022. Nim 321415095. The Application of Herring Bone Method in Teaching Reading Comprehension. English Department, Faculty of Letter and Culture, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Advisor (1). Sri Agriyanti Mestari, S.Pd., M.Ed.TESOL (2). Sri Rumiyatiningsih Luwiti, S.Pd., M.Pd. This research aims to find out whether or not the application of Herring Bone Method in Teaching Reading Comprehension or not. The population of this research is the students in ten grade of SMA NEGERI 1 Telaga Biru, and the sample is 20 students in class IPA 1. This research used pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test. The result of this research shows that the mean score of pre-test is 15,3 and the mean score of post-test is 17,9. Moreover, the results of hypothesis of this research found that tcount > tlist or 4,570 > 2,101. It means that the hypothesis of this research found that the hypothesis (H1) of this research is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Application of Herring Bone method has a good impact toward students' reading comprehension. Keywords: Herring bone, Reading comprehension
