Pricipal advisors Prof. Dr. KartinLihawa, M.Pd and Titien Fatmawaty Mohammad, S.Pd, M.App.Ling This research aims to find out whether or not DRTA method can increase students� reading comprehension. This research conducted quantitatively. This approach is used in order to know wheather DRTA method can improve students reading comprehension on narrative text. Population of this research is the students of SMP Negeri 2 Bulawa in the second grade of 2021/2022 academic years, with total of population was 199. In collecting the data I use a test, the multiple choice item used one kinds of text there is narrative text. I used pre-experimental, namely one group pre-test and post-test design. The result of this research showed, the mean score in pre test was 6,8 and in post test the mean score was 11,05. In this research, the hypothesis found that tcount � tlist with a value of 10.63� 2.101It means that the hypothesis (H1) is accepted. It can be summed up that DRTA method can increase students� reading comprehension of the second grade in SMP 2 Bulawa. Key Words: DRTA method, Students� reading comprehension.
