Nowadays group of society in communicating use a specific language items. For instance, Mobile Legend Bang Bang (MLBB) game players, they enjoy the game by interacting and giving ideas with the other player that is supported by the gameâs feature called as chat room and voice chat features. They even using a lot of emerging special language items that are used in MLBB game (in English term) on their conversation, called as register. Wardaugh states that register means set of language items which are associated with social groups. Therefore, the object of this research is the register that will be found in MLBB game. The data have been collected by transcribed and identified the interaction of players and commentators in Youtube platform. Then, to analyze the data, the researcher correlate the source of data collected and deliver based on the aim through Biber and Conrad theory.
Biber and Conrad (2009) stated in general terms, a register is a variety associated with a particular situation of use (including particular communicative purposes). The description of a register covers three major components: the situational context, the linguistic features, and the functional relationships between the first, second components (p. 9). The data that has been found were analyzed using qualitative method with Discourse Analysis. In order to elaborate the use of register in MLBB community, the researcher coded the similarity in the interaction of players and commentators on their Youtube videos. The researcher themed the similarity such as; Register with its Abbreviation, Register refers to Types of Hero, and Register refers to Things in Battle Area. In that context of analysis the researcher elaborate the use of each register by validating through discussion the experts (Players with specific criteria).
Then the register found, showed that the social group especially MLBB social group used their register to describe them as the speech community. It tells that they use special and unique set language items for communicating. Then the identity of MLBB community is known by their register.
