The research investigates the level shift on English verb phrase in translated novel Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. The study aims to analyze the use of level shift on verb phrase found in Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone Novel translation. This research is descriptive qualitative research with corpus methodology. The object of the study is the novel entitled Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone and its translation. The data of this study are the level shift on verb phrase found in Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone novel. Based on the analysis, there are 13 data of verb phrase in the source language are classified using level shift in the target language. The final result of this research is from 13 data, the use of level shift is for an event that is taking place during a certain time or at the present time, a situation that started in the past and still continues today or has ended at a certain time but the effect still continues today, and actions in past situations that were completed before other actions occurred. The data are classified into two categories, namely unalterable and alterable.
