Abstract
i ABSTRAK Nolcean Thalib. 2012. Identifikasi Kesulitan Memahami Konsep Asam Basa Pada Siswa Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri I Gorontalo Dalam Tahun Pelajaran 2011/2012. Skripsi, Program Pendidikan Strata 1 (S1) Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia Fakultas Matematika dan IPA Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG). Pembimbing I Nita Suleman ST, MT dan Pembimbing II Julhim S.Tangio, S.Pd, M.Pd. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui gambaran kesulitan siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri I Gorontalo dalam memahami Materi Asam Basa, (2) untuk mengetahui konsep-konsep apa saja yang sulit dipahami siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 yang terdiri dari 6 kelas yang merupakan kelas homogen. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelas yang diambil secara acak. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes sebagai instrumen. Hasil uji validasi tes adalah 91.67% dan reliabilitas 0,79 %. Hasil penelitian menunjukan gambaran siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep asam basa Arrhenius sebanyak 29,78%; konsep asam basa Brownsted-Lowry sebanyak 53, 72%; konsep asam basa konjugat sebanyak 29, 79%; konsep asam basa lewis sebanyak 82,27%; konsep kekuatan asam dan hubungan Ka/Kb dengan ? sebanyak 75,74%; dan untuk konsep pH sebanyak 51,23%. Sedangkan konsep yang mungkin sulit dipahami siswa adalah menjelaskan konsep asam basa Arrhenius, menjelaskan konsep dan mengidentifikasi reaksi yang termasuk asam basa Brownsted-Lowry, menunjukan reaksi yang termasuk asam1 basa1 dan asam2 basa2, menjelaskan asam basa Lewis dan mengidentifikasi reaksi yang termasuk asam basa Lewis, menjelaskan konsep kekuatan asam dan menyelesaikan soal dalam bentuk perhitungan, dan menghitung harga pH dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda-beda. This descriptive study is aimed to (1) find difficulties description of student class XI SMA I Gorontalo in understanding the Acid-Base concept, (2) to determine what concepts that difficult to understand by students. The population in this study is all of styudent in Class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo academic year 2011/2012 consisting of six classes that are homogeneous class. Study sample consisted of two classes are taken at random. Data collection techniques using as a test instrument. The test validate results is 91.67%, and reliability is 0.79%. The results showed description of students who have difficulty in understanding the Arrhenius acid-base concept as much as 29.78%; Brownsted-Lowry acid-base as much as 53, 72%; the concept of conjugate acid-base by 29, 79%; Lewis acidbase concept as much as 82.27 %, the concept of acid strength and the relationship Ka / Kb with ? as much as 75.74%, and for the concept of pH as much as 51.23%. While the concept may be difficult to understand the students are to explain the Arrhenius acid-base concept, explain and identify the concept of Brownsted- Lowry acid-base reaction, showed reaction of acid 1 acid 2 and base 1 base 2, describes reactions of Lewis acid-base and identify which include acid-base Lewis, explains the concept of acid strength, resolve the matter with calculation form, and calculate the pH with different concentrations.
