Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengadaptasi permainan tumbawa sebagai analogi dalam pembelajaran konfigurasi elektron serta mengukur pemahaman siswa terhadap materi konfigurasi elektron. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 20 orang siswa kelas X MIA3 SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument Three Tier Test, lalu data dianalisis dengan cara reduksi data. Data tes dikelompokkan berdasarkan jawaban benar (tahu konsep) dan yang menjawab salah (tidak tahu konsep). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemahaman siswa kelas X MIA3 SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo terhadap materi konfigurasi elektron tergolong cukup tinggi yaitu 42,55%.

This research is descriptive qualitative research. The purpose of this study is to adapt the tumbawa game as an analogy in electron configuration learning and to measure students' understanding of the electron configuration material. The sample of this research is 20 students of class X MIA3 SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. Data collection using Three Tier Test instrument, then data is analyzed by data reduction. Test data are grouped based on correct answers (know concepts) and who answer wrong (do not know the concept). The result of the research shows that the students' understanding of class X of MIA3 SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo on the electron configuration material is quite high, that is 42.55%.
