Abstract
ABSTRAK Nurkhaliq. 2018. Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) terhadap Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Larutan Penyangga Siswa SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. Skripsi, Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia Program Pendidikan Strata-1 (S1) Fakultas Matematika dan IPA Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Dosen Pembimbing I Dra. Salimi, M.Si Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep pada materi larutan penyangga. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah True Experimental Design dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 50 siswa yaitu sebanyak 25 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan 25 siswa pada kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) sedangkan pada kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes pemahaman konsep materi larutan penyangga yang terdiri dari 14 soal pilihan ganda beralasan. Tes tersebut digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata pretest untuk kelas eksperimen = 44,57 dan posttest = 90,14. Sedangkan skor rata-rata pretest untuk kelas kontrol = 51,71 dan posttest = 79,57. Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dengan model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain sebesar 45,57. Sedangkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dengan model konvensional sebesar 27,86. Berdasarkan perhitungan atau uji statistik diperoleh harga thitung = 14,094 untuk taraf signifikansi () 5% (0,05) dengan dk = (n1 + n2 - 2) = 25 + 25 - 2 = 48, nilai ttabel yaitu sebesar 1,677. Dengan demikian nilai thitung 14,094 >1,677 ttabel, yang berarti H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Predict Observe Explain terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi larutan penyangga. The research aimed to investigate the effect of POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning model towards the understanding of butter solution concept. It is quantitative research that applied True Experimental Design with pretest-postest control grup design. The research samples were 50 students divided into 25 students for the experiment group and 25 students for the control group. The experiment group applied POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning model while the control group applied the conventional learning model. The research samples were selected through the application of simple random sampling. Data colection employed test instrument of understanding of buffer solution concept that comprised 14 tests of multiple choice with reason. The test was used to evaluate student's conceptual understanding ability. The research finding showed that the average score of pretest for experiment group was 44,57 while the posttest was 90,14. Meanwhile, the average score of pretest for the control group was 51,71 whereas the posttest was 79,57. The previous findings confirmed the improvement of students conceptual understanding ability for 45,57 through the application of POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning model. Then, student's conceptual understanding ability taught by the conventional model was 27,86. Based on statistical test, it obtained that value of tcount= 14,094 at significance level () of 5% (0,05) with df = (n1 + n2 - 2) = 25 + 25 - 2 = 48, value of ttable was 1,677. Therefore, the value of tcount 14,094 > 1,677 ttable confirmed to reject H0 and to accept H1. Thus, it could be inferred that there was an effect of Predict-Observed-Explain learning model towards student's conceptual understanding ability at buffer solution topic.
