La Ode Muhammad Agung Putra. 2016. Analisis Kesesuaian Lahan Pertanian Jagung Di Kabupaten Gorontalo. Skripsi, Program Studi Pendidikan Geografi Jurusan Ilmu dan Teknologi Kebumian, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Pembimbing I Dr. Sunarty S. Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelas kesesuaian lahan pertanian jagung di Kabupaten Gorontalo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Survey. Penetapan lokasi pengumpulan data maupun pengambilan sampel tanah ditentukan dengan cara Purposive Sampling. Penentuan sampel berdasarkan pada Overlay peta bentuk lahan, peta kelas lereng dan peta jenis tanah yang menghasilkan peta satuan lahan. Data pada penelitian ini, yaitu data lapangan yang meliputi kemiringan lahan, kondisi drainase tanah, kenampakan erosi, bahaya banjir, kedalaman efektif tanah, singkapan batuan, kenampakan batuan di permukaan tanah, temperatur udara, dan data hasil uji laboratorium, yaitu KTK tanah, pH tanah, tekstur tanah, kejenuhan basa, dan salinitas tanah. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode Matching yaitu dengan melakukan pencocokan data lapangan dengan kriteria kesesuaian lahan pertanian jagung yang ada.
Temuan pada penelitian ini, yaitu kelas kesesuaian lahan pertanian jagung di Kabupaten Gorontalo terbagi menjadi 3 kelas S2, yaitu 28% dengan luas 598,37 km2, kelas S3, yaitu 26% dengan luas 554,36 km2, dan kelas N, yaitu 46% dengan luas 972 km2 dari total luas wilayah Kabupaten Gorontalo, yaitu 2.125,47 km2 dengan faktor pembatas meliputi, media perakaran (rc), retensi hara (nr), medan (s), erosi (eh), dan bahaya banjir (i).

This research aims to investigate the class of corn agricultural land appropriateness in District of Gorontalo. It applies survey method. Samples of the research are collected through Purposive Sampling technique. The samples determination is based on map Overlay of the land, map of slope class and map of type of soil which creates map of unit land. Data of this research are field data comparising of slope of the land, condition of soil drainage, erosion appearance, danger of flood, depth of effective soil, exposure of rock, rock appearance on the surface of soil, air temperature and data of laboratory test namely KTK of soil, pH of soil, texture of soil, alkali saturation and soil salinity. The data are analyzed by Matching method that is completed by matching field data with existing corn agricultural land approppriateness. Research finding revals that corn agricultural lan appropriateness in District of Gorontalo is divided into 3, class S2 for 28% with large of 598,37 km2, class S3 for 26% with large of 554,36 km2 and class N for 46% with large of 2. 125,47 km2. The limit factors comprise of root media (rc), nutrient retention (nr), field (s), erosion (eh) and danger of flood (i).
