Abstract
This research aims to develop an English e-module based on a mind mapping model for enhancing students' understanding of English lessons. This topic is raised because the learning model applied nowadays is still focused on the conventional method, where teachers in front of the class become the center of knowledge. Whereas the junior and senior high school students were now born around 2005-2010, they are the Gen-Z generation who were born and living in the technology era. This research is conducted to ascertain the students' needs in the English lesson, then develop the English e-module mind mapping based on the seventh-grade English lesson. The research flow refers to 4D model research and development with four stages; define, design, develop, and disseminate. The result shows that students need to learn and understand the part of speech material deeply, so the researcher designed part of speech material in the mind mapping model through the Canva application. Then, it is combined to become an e-module through Storyline Articulate and WEB APK so the English e-module can be installed on students' smartphones. The English e-module product gets a 4.00 score from the material expert and a 3.60 score from the media expert, which mean that the product is feasible to be utilized by students for independent learning. Additionally, the students' response to this product is highly positive because of its effectiveness and practicality. This product has also been tested for students and proves that it can enhance students' understanding of learning English through their average score reaching 89. Therefore, the existence of this English e-module provides benefits in a technology-based English learning model for the Gen Z generation. Keywords: English E-module, Mind Mapping, 4D Model
