Pola pemilihan ibu terhadap alat kontrasepsi memiliki beberapa faktor yaitu lingkungan individu baik dari keluarga, komunitas dan agama dan faktor lainnya adalah keefektifan dari kontrasepsi itu sendiri berkaitan dengan keamanan, kenyamanan, biaya, ketersediaan, kemudahan untuk digunakan, kesibukan/aktivitas ibu serta tingkat pendidikan yang dimiliki ibu. Karakteristik akseptor KB sangat mempengaruhi pola pemilihan alat kontrasepsi yang digunakan.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuikarakteristik akseptor KB dan pola penggunaan kontrasepsi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kota Tengah Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini berjenis deskriptif kuantitatif. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 84 orang dengan teknik total sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan data sekunder yaitu melalui buku register Keluarga Berencana di Poli KIA/KB Puskesmas Kota Tengah. Variabel yang diteliti adalah karakteristik akseptor KB dan Pola Penggunaan Kontrasepsi.
Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan akseptor KB di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kota Tengah sebagaian besar berusia dewasa tengah (77,4%), ibu multipara (63,4%), berpendidikan SMA (59,9%), bekerja (54,8%) dan berpenghasilan tinggi (56,0%) serta menggunakan alat kontrasepsi suntikan (57,1%). Kesimpulan bahwa karakteristik akseptor KB akan mempengaruhi alat kontrasepsi yang digunakan. Disarankan pada calon akseptor KB agar mempertimbangkan karakteristik yang dimiliki disesuaikan dengan kelebihan dan kelemahan masing-masing alat kontrasepsi sehingga alat kontrasepsi yang dipilih efektif dan efisien.

This study aims to know the characteristics of family planning acceptors and contraceptive usage patterns in the work area of the Puskesmas Kota Tengah of Gorontalo City. This research is quantitative descriptive type. The sample size is 84 people with total sampling technique. Data collection using secondary data is through register book Family Planning in Poli KIA / KB Puskesmas Kota Tengah. The variables studied were the characteristics of family planning acceptors and the pattern of contraceptive usage.
Result of the research: In KB acceptor in Puskesmas Kota Tengah work area most of middle age (77,4%), multiparous mother (63,4%), high school education (59,9%), work (54,8%) and High income (56.0%) and injection contraceptive use (57.1%).
