Pada dasarnya tenaga fungsional kesehatan masyarakat di puskesmas bertugas mengelola promosi kesehatan secara professional dan mampu untuk mengelola serta menyelenggarakan pelayanan yang bersifat promotif dan preventif. Promosi kesehatan merupakan program kesehatan yang dirancang untuk membawa perubahan, baik dalam masyarakat sendiri, maupun dalam organisasi dan lingkungannya. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini yakni bagaimana gambaran kinerja penyuluh promosi kesehatan di Puskesmas Ponelo Kepulauan Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui kinerja penyuluh promosi kesehatan di Puskesmas Kecamatan Ponelo Kepulauan.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif untuk melihat gambaran kinerja dari penyuluh promosi kesehatan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan pengamatan langsung di lapangan serta wawancara dengan instansi berwenang Puskesmas Ponelo Kepulauan. Adapun objek penelitian adalah Kepala Puskesmas dan tenaga Promosi Kesehatan. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisis univariat untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik dari setiap variabel.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan belum maksimalnya kinerja tenaga promkes di pengaruhi oleh kurangnya fasilitas dan kondisi wilayah kerja yang berjauhan dan jalan yang belum memadai sehingga menghambat tenaga kesehatan dalam melaksanakan tugas untuk mempromosikan tenaga kesehatan.
Kesimpulan dari penelitian yakni faktor individu, faktor psikologi dan faktor organisasi dari tenaga promosi kesehatan sangat berpengaruh serta mampu mendorong kinerja tenaga kesehatan di Puskesmas Ponelo semakin baik dan mampu membuat perencanaan bersama. Diharapkan pihak Puskesmas Ponelo kiranya lebih mengoptimalkan sarana dan prasarana untuk kegiatan promosi kesehatan, serta lebih meningkatakan kinerja agar program-program promkes yang sudah direncanakan bisa berjalan dengan baik dan mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal.

The job of health assistant of community health center is basically to manage the health promotion professionally and to be able to conduct a promotive and preventive health care service. Health promotion is a term describing a program of public health to promote a change in people, organization, and the surrounding. The goal of this present study is to find out the description of the performance of health promotion assistants at Ponelo Community Health Center, Gorontalo Utara Regency. This serves as the problem statement of the study.
This descriptive study consisted of procedures, e.g., observation and interview. Stakeholders of Ponelo Community Health Center were involved as the interviewees. Furthermore, the objects of thestudywere the head of the community health center as well as the health promotion assistants at the research site. The data were analyzed by using univariate analysis to describe the characteristic of each variable.
The result reveals that the performance of the health promotion assistants is not yet effective. This blames factors, e.g., remote workplace and the condition of the road to get to the community health center.
In conclusion, factors affecting the performance of the health promotion assistant in the research site consist of individual, psychology, and organization. These are also able to enhance the performance of the health promotion assistants, i.e., designing a health promotion plan. It is suggested that Ponelo Community Health Center should optimize the facilities and the infrastructures for conducting health promotion activities and improving the staffs involved to achieve a maximum result of the health promotion programs.
