Anggun Tri Citra Utami, 811413070. 2017. Hubungan Perhatian Orang Tua dan Perilaku Makan Anak dengan Potensi Penyakit Demam Thypoid di Puskesmas Kota Barat, Kota Gorontalo. Demam thypoid adalah penyakit infeksi akut yang biasanya mengenai saluran pencernaan dengan gejala demam yang lebih dari satu minggu, ganggun pada pencernaan dan gangguan kesadaran dan sering terjadi pada anak-anak sehingga perhatian orang tua sangat di perlukan. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah apakah ada hubungan perhatian orang tua dan perilaku makan anak dengan potensi penyakit demam thypoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan perhatian orang tua dan perilaku makan anak dengan potensi demam thypoid di Puskesmas Kota Barat Kota Gorontalo.
Metode penelitian survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah orang tua anak yang datang berkunjung di Puskesmas Kota Barat yaitu sebanyak 30 responden dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dan menggunakan uji Chi Square.
Hasil penelitian perhatian orang tua dengan potensi penyakit demam thypoid menunjukkan p value sebesar 0,004 dan perilaku makan anak dengan potensi penyakit demam thypoid menunjukkan p value sebesar 0,000 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan perhatian orang tua dan perilaku makan anak dengan potensi penyakit demam thypoid di Puskesmas Kota Barat, Kota Gorontalo. Diharapkan kepada masyarakat lebih meningkatkan informasi tentang penyakit demam thypoid, khususnya tentang mekanisme peyebaran Salmonella thypii.

Typhoid fever refers to anacute infectious disease in the digestive tract which mostly attacks children; the rise in the body's temperature for more than one week, indigestion, and the issues regarding one's consciousness are among the symptoms of this disease. By that, parental attention is necessary to cope with this issue. The problem of this present study is about whether or not the attention of parents and the children's diet affect the potential of typhoid disease. This study attempts to examine such an interrelation in Kota Barat Public Health Centre, Kota Barat, Gorontalo city.
This analytical survey research employed cross-sectional approach. The sample involved a total of 30 parents visiting the public health centre; they were selected through accidental sampling method as well as chi-square test.
It is revealed that the p-value of the variable of parental attention and the potential of typhoid is 0.004. Furthermore, the p-value of the children's eating behaviour and the probability of the disease is 0.000. This indicates that the parental attention and the children's diet correlatewith the potential of the typhoid fever in the site area. Therefore, disseminating information regarding the disease particularly the spread of the disease around the society is essentially required.
