The principal supervisor is Dr. Laksmyn Kadir, M.Kes and the co-supervisor is Lia Amalia, S.KM.,M.Kes Departement of Public Health, Faculty of Sports and Health, State University of Gorontalo.
Hypertension is an elevated blood pressure that is higher than normal >120/80 mmHg. The Problem statement of this research is whether or not there is a relationship between smoking and coffe drinking habits with Hypertension incidence in working area of Puskesmas (Public Healt Center) Pinogu.
The research aims to find out the relationship between smoking and coffe drinking habits with Hypertension incidence in working area of Puskesmas Pinogu. The research is classified as quantitative research that uses Cross Sectional design. The research population are working-age people from 15 to 64 years in Puskesmas Pinogu, whreas the samples are 108 people who have been determined by using Slovin formula. The data analysis uses Chi-Square test.
The research finding reveals that there is a relationship between smoking and coffe drinking habits with Hypertension incidence with a value of p=0,000. To conclude, there is a relationship between smoking and coffe drinking habits with Hypertension incidence in working area Puskesmas Pinogu. The Puskesmas is recommended to do socialization during posbindu (Integrated Development Post) to spread information. At the same time, people are suggeted to do physical activity and to have self-awareness in doing periodic health examination.
