Abstract
ABSTRAK Devia Riska Rahman. 2016. Pengaruh jenis gelling agent terhadap stabilitas fisik sediaan gel antiseptik tangan lidah buaya (Aloe vera. L) dan Uji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Pembimbing I Nurain Thomas, S.Si,M.Si.,Apt dan Pembimbing II Moh. Adam Mustapa, S.Si.,M.Sc. Kebersihan tangan merupakan salah satu yang penting karena tangan merupakan perantara masuknya bakteri kedalam tubuh. Bakteri Staphylococcus aureus merupakan salah satu bakteri yang melekat di tangan manusia. Lidah buaya merupakan tanaman yang dapat digunakan sebagai antibakteri karena memiliki kandungan senyawa anthrakurnonealoin yang diduga berfungsi sebagai antibakteri. Diformulasikan sebagai gel antiseptik tangan menggunakan gelling agent viskolam dan HPMC. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh jenis gelling agent terhadap stabilitas fisik sediaan gel dan aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus setelah diformulasikan kedalam gel antiseptik tangan. Dilakukan evaluasi stabilitas sediaan meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, viskositas dan uji antibakteri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan gel antiseptik tangan menggunakan gelling agent viskolam dengan konsentrasi 3%, 5% dan 7% serta gelling agent HPMC dengan konsentrasi 6%, 8% dan 10% menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan konsentrasi gelling agent dapat menaikkan viskositas gel tetapi tidak mengalami perubahan pada pH dan homogenitas gel. Keenam formula gel antiseptik tangan lidah buaya mampu mengahambat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya zona hambat yang terbentuk. Kata Kunci : Lidah buaya (Aloe vera. Staphylococcus aureus bacteria is one of bacterium that is inherent in human hands. Aloe vera is a plant that can be used as an antibacterial because it contains a compound named anthrakurnonealoin that acts as antibacterial for hands. The compounds is formulated as an antiseptic hand gel using a gelling agent such as viskolam and HPMC. This research aims to observe the influence of this kind of gelling agent towards the physical stability of the gel preparation and antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus after it is formulated into antiseptic hands. This research aims to evaluate the praparations included organoleptic stability, homogenity, pH, viscosity and antibacterial test. The research result showed the antiseptic hand gel which used a gelling agent viscolam with the concentration 3%, 5% dan 7% also gelling agent HPMC at a concentration of 6%, 8% and 10% indicate that the increase in concentration of gelling agent can increase the viscosity of the gel but it is not changed from the pH and homogenity of the gel. The sixth formula antiseptic of hand gel of aloe vera are able to inhibit the staphylococcus aureus bacteria pointed out by marks sense molded constraining zona. Keywords: Aloe vera.
