Acne is a clinical skin problem usually known as acne vulgaris in which one of the factors that trigger it is the Propionibacterium acne bacteria. This research aims to formulate and test the efficacy of the tomato juice gel (Solanum lycopersicum L.) on the Propionibacterium acne. This research uses the swab method of sterile catton in FTM media as the breeding place of the bacteria, where the concentration of tomato juice for each gel products are F1 5%, FII 15%, FIII 25%. This research shows that the tomato juice gel can inhibit the development of the Propionibacterium acne and the concentrate that shows the highest inhibitory effect is the 25% concentrate, in which the inhibition power is 8,6 mm. The efficacy of the gel consists of organoleptic test, pH, homogeneity, viscosity, dispersive ability, and skin irritation. The data is analyzed using the one way ANOVA.
