Abstract
This research is based on the problem on how was the functional skill-learning model to
improve fisherwomen’s business independence in Bongo Village of Batudaa Pantai Subdistrict,
District of Gorontalo. Operationally, the objective of this research is to find out the
functional skill-learning model to improve the fisherwomen’s business independence through
processing the fish flavor Kolombengi cake, fish flavor nugget and corn stick with fish flavor.
This research activity is based on the research and development model. This model is also
aimed at exploring the answers for specific questions on the practical problems through
applied research to improve the educational practices.
This research reveals that (1) the level of mastery in the functional skill-learning to improve
the fisherwomen’s business independence in Bongo Village, Sub-district of Batudaa Pantai,
Gorontalo implemented through the processing of fish corn Kolombengi cake, fish nugget
and corn sticks were appropriately or satisfactorily done. Based on this dimension and
variable, the skill-learning model can be categorized as effective, if 80% of the learners have
mastered all or most of the topics of the skill-learning, (2). The established tendency of
fisherwomen to be independent in business was evident in their efforts to pioneer and
establish groups of independence enterprises with prominent products that vary thus, it
enable the growth of health and competitive climate in business and see the market
opportunity.
Based on the above analysis, this model is recommended to be applied in learning that has
similar characteristics with the target implementation of this model by following the steps of
planning, implementation, and evaluation, which are the essential parts in the activity and
business management.
